Anderson Announces Hall of Fame Class of 2026
Anderson University has announced its 2026 Hall of Fame Induction Class, which includes Devin (Moorman) Linette, Jara (Ballinger) Coonce, Steve Linder, Joe Ruch, the 1984-85 men’s tennis team and the 1985-86 men’s tennis team.

The Hall of Fame Induction ceremony is set to take place on Saturday, Oct. 17 during Homecoming Weekend at 11 a.m. in York Performance Hall.

Linette came to Anderson in the fall of 2009 from Batesville High School in Batesville, Ind. to compete in softball. She received second-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) recognition as a sophomore before garnering first-team all-HCAC honors as a junior and a senior. Linette was tabbed the HCAC Pitcher of the Year in her junior season. As a junior, Linette went 8-0 with a 0.86 ERA, a 1.00 WHIP and a .202 opponent batting average during her conference season. Linette was named HCAC Pitcher of the Week twice as a junior. During her tenure, Linette contributed to three consecutive HCAC Tournament titles in her final three seasons. Anderson also put together an undefeated regular-season championship in her junior year. The Ravens then advanced to the Women's College World Series during Linette's senior season. Anderson compiled 100-67 record in her four years. Linette went 36-29 with a 3.25 ERA during her career. Among Anderson career leaders, Linette ranks fourth in wins, fourth in strikeouts (249), fourth in appearances (90), fourth in games started (74), T-4 in shutouts (6), fifth in innings pitched (398), ninth in strikeouts per seven innings (4.38), T-9 in saves (2) and 10th in complete games (33). |

An Eastbrook High School graduate, Coonce arrived at Anderson in the fall of 2003 from Upland, Ind. to compete in volleyball. Coonce was selected as the HCAC Freshman of the Year in 2003. She earned second-team all-HCAC honors as a sophomore and then received first-team all-HCAC recognition during her junior and senior seasons. The Ravens went 88-49 during Coonce's tenure. As a senior, Coonce posted a .334 hitting percentage, which led the conference for the season and ranks 10th in school history for single-season hitting percentage. Coonce has also recorded two top five performances among Anderson's single-season leaders in solo blocks. Among Anderson's career leaders, Coonce ranks first in solo blocks (269), fourth in total blocks (467), fourth in points (1,701), fifth in kills (1,262), fifth in hitting percentage (.281), seventh in block assists (198) and seventh in serve percentage (.958). Coonce was named the 2007 Anderson Outstanding Senior Female Athlete. |

Linder came to Anderson in the fall of 1978 from Aiken High School in Cincinnati, Ohio to compete in tennis. He garnered all-Hoosier Buckeye Collegiate Conference (HBCC) and All-National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) District 21 honors in his final three years of competition. Anderson took four second-place finishes in the NAIA District 21 and three second-place finishes in the HBCC during Linder's tenure. The Ravens compiled a 29-7 dual record during his career. Linder was named team MVP as a senior and team co-MVP as a sophomore. As a sophomore, Linder put together a 13-4 singles record. During his senior season, Linder racked up an 18-2 singles record and a 15-3 doubles record, setting Anderson's current single-season singles wins record. His 33 total wins in a season ties for second in school history while his 15 doubles wins in a season ties for sixth in school history. Linder posted a 53-14 career singles record and a 45-16 career doubles record for a 98-30 career total record. He holds the current school record for career total wins. Linder also ranks second in career singles wins and is tied for second in career doubles wins. |

Ruch arrived at Anderson in the fall of 1978 from Frankfort High School in Frankfort, Ind. to compete in tennis. He earned All-NAIA District 21 honors as a sophomore and senior. Ruch also received all-HBCC recognition as a junior and senior. Anderson captured four second-place finishes in the NAIA District 21 and three second-place finishes in the HBCC during Ruch's career. The Ravens produced a 29-7 dual record during his tenure. Ruch was selected as team MVP as a junior and team co-MVP as a sophomore. All four of Ruch's single-season singles wins totals rank in Anderson's current top 20 for single-season leaders. Ruch put together two seasons with 15 singles wins, which is tied for fifth in school history. Throughout his career in singles, Ruch went 13-3 as a freshman, 15-2 as a sophomore, 13-1 as a junior and 15-3 as a senior. Ruch posted a 15-3 doubles record as a senior. Among Anderson single-season leaders, Ruch also ranked fourth in total wins (30) and tied for sixth in doubles wins in his senior season. Ruch compiled a 56-9 career singles record and a 39-18 career doubles record for a 95-27 career total record. He holds the current school record for career singles wins. Ruch also ranks second in career total wins and 10th in career doubles wins. |

The 1984-85 Men's Tennis Team went 12-1 with an HBCC title. Anderson's 12 wins in a season ranks sixth in program history. The Ravens also finished second in the NAIA District 21. Jim Hostetler was tabbed the HBCC Coach of the Year and the NAIA District 21 Coach of the Year. Bill Greiner, Mike Hamm, Rusty Jessee and Ben McCurdy each received all-HBCC recognition while Hamm and McCurdy garnered all-NAIA District 21 honors. |
