Women’s Basketball Races Past Belles

The Anderson University women's basketball team (2-3) raced past St. Mary's College (Ind.) (4-2) by a score of 85-63 on Tuesday in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.

COACH JON GIN'S COMMENTS

It feels great to get a fantastic team win heading into Thanksgiving Break. Our team executed the game plan really well. We moved the ball quickly on offense and found the mismatch inside. Twenty four assists is stellar! We stayed disciplined on defense and focred them to into tough shots all night. We won the rebounding battle, which is always tough for us. Victoria Detraz had an outstanding game and showed what she is capable of on a nightly basis. She's easily a top-tier post player in our league and I'm excited to see her game and confidence continue to grow as we head into conference play. It's really hard playing three games in five nights and being able to execute different game plans, but our team did a great job of it [on Tuesday]. I'm excited to have some fun in our D-I exhibition [on Wednesday] and get into Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference play after Thanksgiving.
