Anderson (3-5, 1-2) knocked down 14-of-28 (50 percent) shots from 3-point range. The Ravens tied for seventh in school history for most 3-pointers made in a single game (14) and tied for seventh in school history for best single-game 3-point field-goal percentage (50) with at least 10 makes. Despite both teams finishing with 10 offensive rebounds, Anderson outscored Rose-Hulman 17-4 on second-chance points. The Ravens closed the game plus-one on turnover margin, but held a 22-11 advantage on points off turnovers.
Anderson picked up its first conference win of the season after dropping a 91-88 double-overtime heartbreaker to Berea College (3-5, 1-2) last Saturday.
"Coming into finals week, you never really know what you're going to get," Coach Jon Gin said. "Compound that with a heartbreaking double overtime loss the game before and who knows? Our team responded really well. We moved the ball great on offense, which led to some great shooting beyond the arc. Defensively, we stuck to the scout well and competed hard on the glass. We had some great contributions off the bench as well. All in all, it was a great team effort and a great team win. Hopefully, we can bring that same effort and teamwork against a good Hanover team on Wednesday."
Izzy Davis provided 15 points and six assists. The senior from Indianapolis converted 4-of-8 (50 percent) shots from 3-point range. Paige Williamson scored 15 points. The sophomore from Rockford, Ohio hit 4-of-8 (50 percent) attempts from the perimeter. Victoria Detraz tallied 11 points and six rebounds. The junior from Valparaiso drained 5-of-7 (71.4 percent) shots from the field. Sydney Sierota contributed 10 points and five steals. Lauren Smith provided 10 points and four assists. Bella Larrison notched seven points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals. Taylor Custer turned in three points and Kylie Hendrickson rounded out Anderson's scoring with two points. Preslei Copper also recorded two blocks.
Anderson battled Hanover College (5-3, 1-2) in HCAC action on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
