Women’s Basketball Pulls Away from Berea on Senior Day
The Anderson University women’s basketball team pulled away from Berea College with a 72-61 victory during Saturday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.

Prior to the game, Anderson recognized Izzy Davis, Kylie Hendrickson, Bella Larrison, Sydney Sierota and Lauren Smith for Senior Day.
"It was great to get a win for our seniors on Senior Day," Coach Jon Gin said. "These five seniors have left an immense legacy on the Anderson Women's Basketball program and their impact will continue to resonate in the future of the program for years to come. I have no doubt that their contributions to society will continue well beyond their graduation. I am so proud of what our seniors have accomplished. They will be dearly missed."
Anderson (15-9, 11-6) dominated the glass by outrebounding Berea (12-12, 9-8) by a 59-43 margin. The Ravens held a 22-16 advantage on the offensive boards and outscored the Mountaineers 24-10 on second-chance points. Anderson hit 16-of-28 (57.1 percent) shots from the free-throw line while Berea made 6-of-10 (60 percent) attempts from the charity stripe.
Smith dropped a career-high 21 points to lead the Ravens. The senior from Muncie drained 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) shots from 3-point range and also blocked three shots. Victoria Detraz produced 12 points and 17 rebounds. Sierota racked up seven points, 13 rebounds, six assists and one block. Larrison provided 13 points, nine rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Davis tallied 14 points. Ashley Pate scored five points, Paige Williamson added two points and Hendrickson and Preslei Copper rounded out the Anderson scoring effort with one point each.
Anderson hosts Bluffton University (11-13, 7-10) in HCAC action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
