The Anderson University women's basketball team routed Principia College 86-65 during the Melissa Johnson/HOPE Classic on Saturday in Richmond.
Anderson (1-3) fell to Albion College (5-0) by a score of 76-74 on Friday. Trailing by as many as 18 points in the second half, the Ravens trimmed the deficit down to one point.
"[Saturday] was a great team effort," Coach Jon Gin said. "We played hard and got great contributions from everyone! It's been a rough start to the season for us, but I think the last three halves we've played have really shown us some good things. If we work the ball on offense and create for others, we can be explosive and have a lot of different players that can score on any possession. Defensively, we are still trying to figure out our identity, but we took several steps in the right direction with our effort on the glass and our communication and commitment to that side of the ball. I'm excited to keep building upon this game and hopefully be ready to take another step forward on Tuesday."
