The Anderson University men's basketball team topped Bluffton University by a score of 93-74 during Wednesday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup in Bluffton, Ohio.
Anderson (16-9, 14-4) clinched a share of its fourth consecutive HCAC regular-season title with Wednesday's win. The Ravens earned outright regular-season crowns during the 2023-24 and 2024-25 seasons.
"I'm extremely proud of my guys," Coach Carter Collins said. "We've been through a whole lot this season (especially in the way of injury and illness), significantly more than any of my other teams had to go through. For us to wrap up the regular season as one of the teams atop the conference standings, earning our fourth straight regular-season conference title, is a MAJOR accomplishment, and one that we'll feel great about for the rest of our lives. We are enjoying things [on Wednesday], but when we wake up in the morning, we'll turn our full attention towards trying to take the conference tournament."
Elijah Mattingly collected 21 rebounds to tie his conference record set on Dec. 18, 2023 against Trine University. The senior from Beech Grove also notched 11 assists, three points, two blocks and two steals.
Anderson drained 22-of-52 (42.3 percent) shots from 3-point range. The Ravens' 22 3-pointers made and 52 3-pointers attempted both rank as the second-highest single-game totals in school history. Anderson knocked 24 3-pointers on 59 attempts on Dec. 6, 2025 against Berea College (9-16, 5-13) earlier this season. Bluffton University (9-16, 7-11) hit 9-of-25 (36 percent) attempts from the perimeter.
Bryce Williams produced 23 points, five rebounds and four assists. Kenney Troutman contributed 21 points and drained 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) shots from behind the arc. Nolan Swan tallied 16 points and five assists. DeMonte Ferguson provided 12 points and four assists. Cedric Anderson turned in seven points and two steals. Will Jamison produced three points and two steals while Cole Duncan added two points and two steals. Brevon Burns and Aden Daugherty rounded out the Anderson scoring effort with three points apiece. Joey Wright and Josiah Marshall each provided assists.
Anderson and Transylvania University (17-8, 14-4) tied for first in the HCAC standings. Since the two teams split their regular-season meetings, Thursday's NPI rankings will determine which team receives the No. 1 seed and which team receives the No. 2 seed. In Wednesday's NPI rankings, Wednesday was ranked No. 137 while Anderson was ranked No. 157. The No. 1 seed will host eighth-seeded Berea while the No. 2 seed will host seventh-seeded Bluffton University. Anderson's HCAC Quarterfinal matchup is set for Saturday at 3 p.m. in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium with the opponent yet to be determined.
