Men’s Basketball Grinds Out Win against Lions
The Anderson University men’s basketball team grinded out a 73-69 win against Mount St. Joseph University during Saturday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup in Cincinnati.

"I'm proud of the guys for getting a huge road win against an impressive Mount St. Joseph squad," Coach Carter Collins said. "We had contributions from just about everyone who stepped on the court, including some guys who haven't necessarily been our main guys. You'll need that throughout the season, and we got it [on Saturday]."
The game consisted of seven ties and 17 lead changes. Anderson rolled to a 22-9 advantage in fast-break points. The Ravens converted 13-of-17 (76.5 percent) shots from the free-throw line while the Lions made 8-of-9 (88.9 percent) attempts from the charity stripe. Anderson outscored Mount St. Joseph 13-9 off turnovers.
Kenney Troutman hit 8-of-12 (66.7 percent) shots from the field, recorded two steals and led the Ravens with 23 points. Elijah Mattingly tallied 15 points, eight rebounds and one block. Nolan Swan scored 12 points. Bryce Williams notched eight assists, seven points and five rebounds. Rob Davidson contributed seven points and five rebounds. DeMonte Ferguson added six points and Will Jamison rounded out the Anderson scoring effort with three points. Jalen Bullock turned in five rebounds and one block.
Hanover College (10-4, 6-1) leads the HCAC standings while Anderson and Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (8-6, 5-2) sit tied for second one game back.
Anderson faces off with Manchester University (2-12, 2-5) in HCAC action on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
