Men’s Basketball Rolls Past (RV) Trine

The Anderson University men's basketball team rolled past Trine University 95-81 on Wednesday in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.

"We've got some things that we're working through in our program right now," Coach Carter Collins said. "The work isn't finished yet, but it was great to see some progress made [on Wednesday] against Trine. Trine is a highly talented squad, and they had their share of moments throughout the game, but I was extremely pleased with my team's willingness and ability to stay the course and see the game through, start to finish. We're pleased to enter Thanksgiving Break with a W, and we're looking forward to starting conference play when we get back."

Anderson (2-4) outrebounded Trine 41-33. The Ravens knocked down 16-of-18 (88.9 percent) shots from the free-throw line, while the Thunder hit 7-of-10 (70 percent) attempts from the charity stripe. Anderson converted 32-of-63 (50.8 percent) shots from the field while Trine made 29-of-69 (42.0 percent) attempts from the floor.

Kenney Troutman paced the Ravens with 25 points. The senior Ben Davis graduate drained 6-of-10 (60 percent) shots from the perimeter. Nolan Swan contributed 18 points. The sophomore from Tipton hit each of his six free-throw attempts. Bryce Williams notched 15 points, nine assists and three steals. The junior from Fishers knocked down each of his six shots from the floor. Elijah Mattingly produced 11 points, 12 rebounds and two steals. Rob Davidson tallied 11 points, three assists, two steals and two blocks. DeMonte Ferguson provided six points, three assists and one block. Axel Laby turned in six rebounds and two points. Cole Duncan added three points while Brevon Burns and Jacob Scruggs rounded out Anderson's scoring with two points apiece.

Anderson kicks off the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) season by hosting Franklin College (3-2, 0-0) in a rematch of the 2025 HCAC Tournament Championship. The two teams clash on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
