Anderson University men's golf senior Luke LeBourdais tied for 45th place with a 36-hole score of 162 during the Keene Trace Collegiate hosted by NCAA Division I's Morehead State University on Tuesday in Nicholasville, Ky.
LeBourdais competed in a field of 62 individuals, which included 33 NCAA Division I players. The senior from Saginaw, Mich. carded rounds of 82 and 80 on the par-72 layout at Keene Trace Golf Club.
"Firstly, I thank the Lord for the opportunity to play golf and praise Him through my sport," Luke LeBourdais said. "It was a fantastic opportunity for me to play in a Division I golf tournament. Getting to play against guys from Xavier University and the University of Kentucky is really exciting. My golf game was not the best, but it was still very fun to play such a prestigious and difficult golf course."
LeBourdais received an invitation to the Keene Trace Collegiate after Mount St. Joseph University head coach Justin Tereshko recommended LeBourdais to Morehead State head coach Matthew Martin.
"I am very thankful to the coaches at Morehead State and Mount St. Joseph for helping this dream become a reality."
Anderson returns to action in the two-day Polar Beaver Invitational. Round 1 takes place on Friday, April 3 at Hidden Creek Golf Course in Lima, Ohio and Round 2 is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 at Colonial Golfers Club in Harrod, Ohio.
