The Anderson University women's soccer team coasted past The University of Olivet 3-0. Anderson's men's golf team tied for 13th place in the Transylvania Fall Invitational.

Women's Soccer Coasts Past Olivet

Women's Soccer (1-0) coasted past The University of Olivet (1-1) on Sunday at Olivet, Mich. The Ravens outshot the Comets 23-1 and held a 16-0 advantage in shots on goal. Kennedy Hurst, Mailee Cornette and Caroline Hill each found the back of the net. Emily Wilusz dished out two assists while Kassidy Jeffers contributed an assist.

Cornette put each of her four shots on frame while Grace Mangino put each of her three shots on target. Wilusz tallied four shots and one shot on goal. Hannah Thompson and Emily Metzger each finished with two shots and one shot on goal. Jessica Rogozinski, Paige Tomallo, Meghan Foster, Hill, Hurst and Kyndall Ferguson each added shots on goal. Anderson welcomes St. Mary-of-the-Woods College (0-2) on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Fridley Field.

Men's Golf Ties for 13th in Transylvania Fall Invitational

Men's Golf tied for 13th place in the two-day Transylvania Fall Invitational, which concluded on Sunday in Lexington, Ky. Anderson compiled a 54-hole team score of 919 (+55). John Mercer captured 19th place with a 54-hole score of 222 (+6). The sophomore from Indianapolis carded rounds of 74, 73 and 75 on the par-72 layout at the University Club of Kentucky. Mercer's 54-hole relative-to-par score of plus six is a 14-stroke personal record. Carter Wooddell tied for 26th in his collegiate debut with a 224 (+8). He put together rounds of 75,75 and 74. Luke LeBourdais put together a score of 230 (+14) and set a 54-hole relative-to-par personal record. Anderson battles in the Ken Venturi Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at Zollner Golf Course in Angola.
