Women’s Golf Captures First in HCAC Preview

The Anderson University women's golf team closed out the fall season by capturing first place in the two-day Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Preview at Anderson Country Club.

Anderson put together a 36-hole team score of 704, finishing 120 strokes over par. Bluffton University came in second with a team score of 721. Hanover College took third with a 747. Earlham College placed fourth with a team score of 780 to round out the team standings.

"I'm incredibly excited for our team on finishing first this weekend," Coach Morgan Douglass said. "It was such a fun way to finish our strong fall season. Shoutout to Hannah Emenhiser for placing fourth. I'm looking forward to seeing how we crush the spring!"

Hannah Emenhiser took fourth with a 36-hole score of 169 (+23). The junior from Whiteland fired rounds of 89 and 80 on the par-73 layout at Anderson Country Club. Emenhiser surged to fourth after breaking even on the final nine holes.

"I'm very proud of our team," Emenhiser said. "We did great and have had an amazing historical season! I am very happy with my finish; shooting even on the back nine is incredible! I am very excited for our spring season! God Bless, Go Ravens!"

Addy Gick took seventh with a 172 (+26), carding rounds of 85 and 87. Abbie Burden secured 12th with a 179 (+33), behind rounds of 88 and 91. Lehna Wagner claimed 15th with a 184 (+38), shooting rounds of 91 and 93. Lilyan Kirchner rounded out Anderson's team scorers by earning 18th with a 189 (+43), behind rounds of 92 and 97.

Alyssa Cole competed as an individual and took 14th with a 183 (+37), firing rounds of 95 and 88. The freshman from Winchester posted a 36-hole relative-to-par personal record and an 18-hole relative-to-par personal record (+15). Ava Capes also competed as an individual and finished 16th with a 186 (+40), shooting a pair of 93's.
