Women's Tennis Battles Past Covenant

The Anderson University women's tennis team (5-7) battled past Covenant College (2-7) by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) National Campus in Orlando, Fla. Anderson took the doubles point. Abby Cunningham and Kate Oberle won the No. 2 doubles match while Gabby Hosier and Isabella Patterson secured the No. 3 doubles match. In singles, Paula Torrent locked up the No. 2 singles point, Hosier claimed the No. 3 singles points and Cunningham locked up the No. 4 singles point. The Ravens face off with Nichols College in a scrimmage on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the USTA National Campus. Anderson rounds out the Florida trip by battling Piedmont University (8-2) on Thursday at 3 p.m. at the Oak Street Park & Community Center in Kissimmee, Fla.

Benedictine Tops Anderson Baseball

Benedictine University (4-4) topped the Anderson University baseball team (6-6-1) by a score of 11-4 on Tuesday at Northeast Regional Park in Davenport, Fla. Trey Dorton went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Ian Potts contributed a double. Carter Knoblauch struck out three batters, issued one walk and allowed an unearned run on one hit in two innings. Eli Ketterer fanned one batter, yielded zero walks and gave up zero runs on one hit in two innings. Lance Coy (0-2) suffered the loss. Anderson wraps up the Florida trip with a 7-inning doubleheader against St. Joseph's College of Maine (8-0) on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.in Auburndale, Fla. At Lake Myrtle Sports Park Field No. 8.
