The Anderson University men's swimming and diving team broke three school records during the three-day Gail Pebworth Invitational, which concluded on Sunday in Crawfordsville.
Anderson totaled 28 personal records and nine additional season bests throughout the weekend. The Ravens took sixth place in the team standings.
COACH NATHAN MANLEY'S COMMENTS
- Our swimmers gave a great effort at our mid-season meet. We had over 90% season bests, tons of personal bests and broke three school records.
- Our middle-distance and distance freestylers were really impressive this weekend. Some good swimming would be expected from them on short rest, but we had 14 swims between the men's and women's 500's and 1,650's. 100 percent were season bests and 12 of the 14 were career bests.
- Our freshmen as a group handled the meet really well. Some of them had not been challenged with a multi-day prelim/finals meet before but they posted 11 career marks out of their 16 individual swims and all 16 swims were season bests.
- It has been a lot of fun working with the best middle-distance and distance swimmer in school history in Reid Haney and the best all-around swimmer in school history, Noah Singleton. They both continue to raise the bar on what AU Swimming is doing. They'll probably own half the record book by the time they graduate in May.
