COACH TYLER RUBASKY'S COMMENTS
We're off to a great start in conference play. It's hard to beat any team twice in this conference, but to open up with two wins at home against last year's conference champs sets the tone for us. We had two great starts on the mound. We were able to make some things happen offensively to give our pitching staff confidence to attack and pitch with the lead. Turning six double plays on the day definitely helps as well. We'll enjoy these wins [on Saturday], but it's back at it [on Sunday] with two more conference games to get at Bluffton.
GAME 1: ANDERSON 6, MANCHESTER 1
Rhet Heckman (3-0) collected the win for the Ravens. He struck out three batters, issued five walks and conceded zero runs on three hits in seven innings. C.J. Williams walked zero batters and gave up one run on two hits in two innings.
Trey Dorton smashed a solo home run. Daniel Barreca went 2-for-5 with an RBI double. Dylan Hogan contributed a double while Griffin Wolf, Zayden Stiller and Landon Gum rounded out Anderson's seven hits with singles. Ian Potts delivered two RBI. Barreca, Hogan, Stiller, Kellan Bailey and Potts each stole a base. Anderson outhit Manchester 7-5 in Game 1.
GAME 2: ANDERSON 6, MANCHESTER 5
Will Loftus crushed a two-run homer for the Ravens while going 2-for-4 at the plate. Hogan went 2-for-4 with three RBI and Dorton finished 2-for-3. Wolf produced an RBI double while Potts and Barreca rounded out Anderson's nine hits with singles. Manchester held a 10-9 hits advantage in Game 2.
Braden Richey (2-2) secured the win. He punched out four batters, yielded one walk and gave up two runs (one earned) on six hits in six innings. Leo McEnulty picked up his second save of the season. He fanned two batters, issued zero walks and allowed two runs (one earned) on one hit in one inning. Drew Doty struck out one batter, yielded one walk and surrendered one run on three hits in two innings.
