Volleyball Takes Down Manchester
The Anderson University volleyball team took down Manchester University 14-25, 25-23, 25-21, 25-23 during Wednesday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.

In Set 1, Anderson (9-9, 1-3) started with a 7-0 deficit. Manchester (10-11, 1-3) finished the first set with a .333 hitting percentage while Anderson was held to a -.026 hitting percentage. The Spartans were then limited to a .064 hitting percentage in comparison to Anderson's .242 attack percentage. Even though Manchester compiled a .333 hitting percentage for Set 3, Anderson rolled to a .519 hitting percentage in Set 3 and a .452 attack percentage in Set 4. For the match, Anderson posted a .269 attack percentage and Manchester turned in a .224 hitting percentage.
"After a very slow start to the match, I am so proud of the resilience that this team showed," Coach Tami Miller said. "This group has worked tirelessly and deserved this win. We had everyone 'on' [on Wednesday]. I'm so excited to see what can be in store for them down the road."
Jayda Lanham notched 15 kills, 11 digs, two blocks, one service ace and 13 receptions. Lacy Rathbun compiled 10 kills, 13 digs, 28 receptions and a .381 hitting percentage. Taylor Bock powered to a .556 hitting percentage, 10 kills and one block. Ellie Wilson recorded five blocks, eight kills and one service ace. Blythe Young tallied 43 assists, nine digs, three blocks and one service ace. Shelby Lasure scattered eight digs and 12 receptions. Peyton Bundy collected 15 receptions and Bre Lawrence smashed five kills.
Anderson challenges Transylvania University (17-6, 3-1) in HCAC action on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Lexington, Ky.
