AU Takes Part in Student-Athlete Day and Division III Week
ANDERSON, IN - As part of National Student-Athlete Day and Division III Week, Anderson University soccer players Nathan Wadley and Chloe Hassett took part in a community service event in Indianapolis.
The student-athletes, along with NCAA office staff, athletics administrators, and local youth, worked with Thrive 360, a group that creates nutritious meal packages for malnourished children and their families in Indiana and developing countries. Thrive 360's overall goal is to help individuals move from starvation to self-sufficiency. More than 20,000 meals were packed and picked up by Gleaners Food Bank after the community project and provided to families and individuals throughout Indiana.

This week, AU teams will be participating in service projects around campus and will partner with Special Olympics for a conference bowling event on Saturday.
Division III Week is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community. During the week, every Division III school and conference office is encouraged to conduct a type of outreach activity that falls into one of three categories: academic accomplishment; athletic experience; or leadership/community service/campus involvement.
During Division III Week, today to April 12, Division III will donate $1 to Special Olympics for every NEW like or follow on Division III's social media platforms â€" Facebook (NCAA Division III) or Twitter (@NCAADIII)!
NCAA D-III's goal is to donate $3,000 after raising more than $2,600 during last year's DIII Week!
