Anderson University men's soccer players Luke Weinman V, Jack Harris, Emmett Kindler and Miles Tucker were each named to the Raven/Quaker Classic All-Tournament Team.
Weinman V was also named the Raven/Quaker Classic Offensive MVP.
Anderson won the Raven/Quaker Classic for the third year in a row. After falling to Muskingum University (1-1) by a score of 3-1 on Friday, the Ravens (1-1) blew out Beloit College (1-1) by a score of 4-0 on Saturday. All four tournament participants finished with a 1-1 record. Anderson won the tournament by finishing with the tournament's highest goal differential of plus two.
Weinman V was named the Offensive MVP after notching two goals and one assist for five points against Beloit. "I'm very proud of Luke," Coach Scott Fridley said. "He was the most consistent player on the weekend for us. He played well both days."
Harris drained a penalty kick goal against Muskingum on Friday. He then led the Ravens with three intercepts against Beloit on Saturday. "When Jack is healthy, I'm not sure there's a better center back anywhere, even injured," Fridley said. "He always plays at a higher level and expects those around him to play the same way. He makes everyone around him better."
Kindler contributed in a variety of roles during the tournament including a key role in shutting out Beloit on Saturday. "Emmett has to fill a lot of different places for us," Fridley said. "He's a great utility guy. When we moved him to the midfield last year, he proved he could do just about anything at any position. When we had the early injury to Carson Reed, we needed to move Emmett back [to defense]. He brings us great stability and leadership."
Tucker netted a goal for the Ravens against Beloit on Saturday. "I'm excited that Miles got on the board," Fridley said. "He is such a quality player. He's a quiet player. He's a hard-working player. I think him being a part of the all-tournament team shows not only his ability to play, but the consistency that he gives us."
Anderson faces off with Wilmington College (1-0-1) on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Fridley Field.
