Anderson University baseball freshman Rhet Heckman has been tabbed Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Pitcher of the Week, which was announced by the conference on Monday.

Heckman earned HCAC Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career. The freshman right-handed pitcher from Spencer went 2-0 after throwing eight scoreless innings last week for Anderson (11-8-1, 3-1). On the week, Heckman recorded a 0.00 ERA, a .136 opponent batting average and a 1.00 WHIP. He struck out three batters, yielded five walks and allowed zero runs on three hits in eight innings for the week. In Saturday's win against Manchester University (6-11, 0-4), Heckman struck out three batters, issued five walks, and gave up no runs on three hits in seven innings. He also retired each of the three batters he faced in Wednesday's win against Trine University (4-14).

Anderson battles Wabash College (5-11) in non-conference action on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Don Brandon Field.
