Ivanyo to be Presented National Awards at Friday’s Home Opener
Anderson University men’s basketball 2025 graduate Tate Ivanyo will be presented the trophies of his national awards during halftime of Friday’s contest against Hope College, which is slated for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
Anderson University men's basketball 2025 graduate Tate Ivanyo will be presented the trophies of his national awards during halftime of Friday's contest against Hope College, which is slated for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.
During the 2024-25 season, Ivanyo was named the winner of three national awards. Ivanyo was selected as the winner of the Jostens Trophy, which recognizes the most outstanding Division III basketball player using the criteria of basketball ability, academic prowess and service to one's surrounding communities. He was also selected as the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Division III Men's Basketball Academic All-America Team Member of the Year, which is awarded to the player in Division III Men's Basketball with the best combination of athletic and academic excellence. Ivanyo capped off his national awards when he was named the Division III Commissioner's Association (D3CA) Male Student-Athlete of the Year, which is awarded to the most outstanding graduating male athlete in Division III athletics regardless of sport. The four criteria used were academic achievement, athletics excellence, service, leadership, and a personal statement submitted by each nominee.
Other outstanding accolades from Ivanyo include National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) First-Team All-American, Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Male Athlete of the Year, Anderson Outstanding Senior Athlete, NABC District 8 Player of the Year, consensus all-American, HCAC Player of the Year and unanimous first-team all-HCAC selection.
