Women's Swimming & Diving Competes in HCAC Championships
The Anderson University women's swimming and diving team is set to compete in the four-day Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships, which is set to begin on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Terre Haute at Vigo County Aquatic Center. Anderson secured fourth place in the 2025 HCAC Championships and was selected to finish fourth this season during the 2025-26 HCAC Preseason Poll. The Ravens compiled a 5-6 overall record and a 3-3 record in HCAC action.
Senior Morgan Ferguson currently ranks in the top seven for four different HCAC events. Among HCAC leaders, Ferguson ranks second in the 100-yard backstroke (1 minute, 10.68 seconds), second in the 200 breaststroke (2:34.10), fourth in the 400 individual medley (5:00.02) and fourth in the 200 individual medley (2:16.49). Sophomore Talia Leer currently ranks third in the conference in the 100 breaststroke (1:11.03) and sixth in the HCAC in the 200 breaststroke (2:41.59). Junior Lindsey Pickering holds a 6-dive 1-meter diving personal record of 150.05 points, which ranks sixth in the HCAC.
Men's Swimming & Diving Battles in HCAC Championships
The Anderson University men's swimming and diving team is set to battle in the four-day Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships, which is set to begin on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in Terre Haute at Vigo County Aquatic Center. Anderson took fifth place in the 2025 HCAC Championships and was selected to finish fifth this season during the 2025-26 HCAC Preseason Poll. The Ravens put together a 4-7 overall record and a 2-4 record in HCAC action.
Senior Reid Haney looks to defend his 1,650-yard freestyle title after capturing first place with a time of 16 minutes, 19.31 seconds last season. Haney became the first Anderson swimmer of either gender to win an individual conference title in a swimming event. The Goshen native holds the leading time in the conference this season for both the 1,650 freestyle (16:18.45) and the 500 freestyle (4:41.14). Haney is also tied for second on the HCAC leaderboard in the 200 freestyle (1:44.73). Senior Noah Singleton is ranked in the top seven in the HCAC in five events. Among HCAC leaders, Singleton ranks second in the 200 individual medley (1:56.89), third in the 200 backstroke (1:58.81), fourth in the 400 individual medley (4:19.72), sixth in the 100 backstroke (54.07) and seventh in the 100 freestyle (48.09).
Baseball Kicks Off Season at Sewanee
The Anderson University baseball team kicks off with a three-game series against the University of Sewanee in Sewanee, Tenn. Both teams open on Friday at 3 p.m. ET and follow up with a doubleheader on Saturday at 12 p.m. ET. Anderson secured a share of the 2025 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) regular-season title. The Ravens compiled a 26-16 overall record and a 15-7 record in conference play last season. Anderson finished third in the HCAC Tournament. The Ravens were selected fifth in a tight 2026 HCAC Preseason Poll but managed to secure one first-place vote.
Anderson brings back two all-region selections and four all-conference selections from last season. Junior outfielder Zac Stawski returns after being named a 2026 D3baseball.com Third-Team Preseason All-American. Stawski was a consensus first-team all-region selection last season after being recognized by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) and D3baseball.com. He also received first-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) honors last season. Stawski achieved a slashline triple crown last season after posting a .494 batting average, a .566 on-base percentage and an .886 slugging percentage in HCAC play last season to lead the conference in all three categories. During the overall season, Stawski went 60-for-138 with a .435 batting average, which put him 20th in the nation. His .526 on-base percentage and .717 slugging percentage put him 43rd and 44th in the nation, respectively.
Senior first baseman Griffin Wolf returns after garnering ABCA Third-Team All-Region honors and first-team all-HCAC honors. Wolf went 57-for-158 with a .361 batting average. His 0.57 hit by pitches ranked 16th in the nation last season. Wolf compiled 24 hit by pitches, 15 doubles, 46 RBI, a .476 on-base percentage, seven home runs, 92 total bases, a 1.073 on-base plus slugging (OPS), a .597 slugging percentage and 41 Runs. Senior outfielder Trey Dorton comes back after earning second-team all-HCAC recognition last season. He went 46-for-147 with a .313 batting average. Dorton recorded six sacrifice flies, which tied for first in the conference. He also produced 42 runs, two triples, five sacrifice hits and 12 hit by pitches. Senior second baseman Dylan Hogan returns after receiving second-team all-HCAC honors. He went 34-for-120 with a .283 batting average.
Sophomore outfielder Daniel Barreca and senior designated hitter Jon Dorsch both return from last year's starting lineup. Senior right-handed pitcher C.J. Williams returns after sharing the team lead with four saves last season. Tyler Rubaski enters his first season at the helm for the Raven. Rubaski was promoted to head coach after serving as the top assistant coach last season.
Sewanee went 20-20 with a 6-12 record in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) last season. The Tigers placed seventh in the SAA. Sophomore Will Jennewein returns after being named the 2025 SAA Rookie of the Year. Sewanee brings back SAA second-team selections Jennewein, senior Charlie Teel and junior Zach Fortman. SAA Honorable Mention selection sophomore Aidan Petrocco also returns.
