Bio

Cory Evans enters the 2025-26 season in his second year on the Anderson University tennis staff.

Evans competed on the Anderson men’s tennis team from 2019-24 and served as a captain from 2022-24. He compiled a career singles record of 46-30 and a career doubles record of 48-29. Evans is the all-time career doubles wins record holder. In the Anderson D-III era, Evans is also tied for first in career total wins and ranks second in career singles wins. Among Anderson’s all-time leaders, Evans ranks T-3 in career total wins and fifth in career singles wins.

Evans earned all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) honors in each of his four years that all-conference was recognized. He garnered first-team all-conference honors during the 2021-22 season and received all-HCAC honorable mention during the 2020-21, 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. Evans also collected academic all-HCAC recognition in all four years of eligibility.

From 2019-24, Evans served as a volunteer assistant coach for Shenandoah High School in Middletown. He also held the role of Assistant Director of Tennis at the Riveria Club in Indianapolis from 2023-24. Since 2025, Evans has been the Tournament Director of the Community Hospital Anderson Tennis Classic, one of Indiana's largest community tennis events. This tournament, which began in 1979, hosts over 150-200 players of all ages each year, and gives back to local high school tennis programs.

A native of Middletown, Evans was a three-sport athlete at Shenandoah, competing in tennis, basketball and track and field. Evans competed on the varsity tennis team for four years, including his senior year as a captain. He was tabbed first-team all-conference honors in tennis as a junior and senior.

During Evans’s time at Anderson as an undergraduate, he was involved in many organizations, including the Honors Program, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), Avanti Boosters and was a Smith Hall Resident Assistant.

Evans joined the Anderson admissions office as a Senior Admissions Counselor in May 2024. In January 2025, he ascending into his current role as Assistant Director of Admissions. Evans graduated from Anderson with a bachelor of arts degree in Mathematics Teaching in 2023. He then earned his Master of Business Administration from Anderson in 2024.
