Women's Swimming & Diving Opens with Manchester, Hanover
In last year's HCAC Championships, Anderson captured fourth place with 443 points, the highest conference-meet score in program history. Manchester University claimed fifth with 198 points while Hanover College took sixth with 171 points.
Anderson returns senior Morgan Ferguson, who set five school records last season. The senior from Farmland holds school records in the 400-yard individual medley (4:47.74), 200 individual medley (2:15.02), 100 individual medley (1:04.33), 200 breaststroke (2:32.13) and 200 freestyle (2:00.44). During the HCAC Championships, Ferguson claimed second in the 400 individual medley and third in the 200 individual medley to earn second-team all-HCAC honors.
Talia Leer also returns for the Ravens. The sophomore from Arcadia set the school record in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:09.48. Leer captured second in the 100 breaststroke during the HCAC Championships to secure second-team all-HCAC honors.
Ella Rector, Leer and Ferguson each return from Anderson's 400 Medley Relay, which claimed second in the HCAC Championships. Anderson returns all four swimmers from its 200 freestyle relay team, which took third in conference. The swimmers include Leer, Callie Manley, Rector and Ferguson. Rector, Ferguson and Leer also each competed on the 200 medley relay team, which secured third in conference.
Men's Swimming & Diving Begins Season with Manchester, Hanover
In last year's HCAC Championships, Anderson finished fifth place in the team standings with 206 points. Manchester University locked up fourth with 374.5 points and Hanover College placed sixth with 107 points.
Anderson returns senior Reid Haney who became the first Raven in program history (of either gender) to win a swimming event in the HCAC Championships. Haney raced to first place in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 16 minutes, 19.31 seconds. The Goshen native holds school records in the 1,650 freestyle (16:19.31), 1,000 freestyle (9:46.91) and 500 freestyle (4:38.39). Haney also secured third in the 500 freestyle during the HCAC Championships.
Anderson also returns senior Noah Singleton who holds five school records. Singleton has set the school record in the 400 individual medley (4:16.06), 200 individual medley (1:57.49), 100 individual medley (55.07), 200 freestyle (1:45.16) and 200 backstroke (1:58.07). The Ravens also return Ethan Scialabba, Nic Doepner and Singleton, who each contributed to Anderson's third-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay during last year's conference meet.
