Emma Maubach Takes Part in Virtual NCAA Career and Sports Forum

Anderson University women's swimming and diving 2020 graduate Emma Maubach took part in a virtual experience with the NCAA Career and Sports Forum from May 27-29. The forum that is normally held in person was moved online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Student-athletes participate in the forum to learn about careers in collegiate athletics and sports in general. Topics of emphasis included self-awareness and its role in professional development; practical approaches to the sports job search; personal branding; developing a career plan; managing yourself as a professional in the sports industry.

Along with networking with the collegiate athletics community, participants learned how their personal strengths intersect with career opportunities, received experiences that will influence an aspiration for a career in sports, learned how to transition into a career in athletics and learned how to become a coach or administrator.

"I am so honored to be the first student-athlete to represent AU at the NCAA Career in Sports Forum," Maubach said. "Along with that, I was selected along with 7 other student-athletes to be a part of the SA Task Force. This conference was a great opportunity for me to discover more about myself, using my strengths and weaknesses to better my career, and discover my 'Why.' I believe any student-athlete interested in a career in sports should seriously check out this opportunity their junior or senior year, it is an opportunity you can't pass up!"
