Wilbrandt Scores Career-High Four Goals against Lions

Anderson University men's lacrosse junior Tristan Wilbrandt (Fishers, Ind./Cathedral) scored a career-high four goals during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) match against Mount St. Joseph University at Macholtz Stadium.
Mount St. Joseph (2-13, 2-6) powered to an 18-7 victory against the Ravens (1-12, 0-8).
Wilbrandt added an assist to finished with five points on the day. Caleb Spencer (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) notched three points on two goals and an assist. Senior Mike McManus (Maineville, Ohio/Loveland) netted a goal and Gage Jones (Elkhart, Ind./Concord) dished out an assist.
Joel Lee (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) tallied four caused turnovers and nine ground balls. Josh Ekberg (Mahomet, Ill/Mahomet Seymour) collected six ground balls.
Kevin McClanahan poured in 11 points on nine goals and two assists for Mount St. Joseph. Tony Behler provided four points on three goals and an assist. Collin Matt contributed four points on a goal and three assists. Chucky Lipps and T.J. Ahrens netted two goals apiece. Bo Kuenning also netted a goal.
Matt won 17-of-25 (68 percent) faceoffs. Behler and Matt each recorded eight ground balls. Spencer Dufresne created four turnovers.
The fourth quarter was shortened to a 12-minute quarter, reducing each goalkeeper's times in cage to 57 minutes for the match.
Mount St. Joseph's Austin Lowery saved nine of the 16 shots he faced.
Zach Cocuzzo (Anthem, Ariz./Boulder Creek) saw 34 shots and came up with 16 saves for the Ravens.
The Lions outshot the Ravens by a 47-26 margin.
Mount St. Joseph cleared 12-of-20 (60 percent) attempts while Anderson finished 13-of-22 (59.1 percent) clears.
Anderson honored McManus for Senior Day. The Maineville, Ohio native played in 12 matches, started in 11 matches and recorded two points on a goal and an assist this season. McManus has collected 37 ground balls and caused six turnovers.
Anderson is expected to return 13 players for the 2020 season.
