Trine University topped the Anderson University men's lacrosse team with a 25-3 victory on Wednesday in Angola.
"There were a lot of positives despite the outcome," Coach Jacob Ashton said. "I felt our effort over four quarters was very positive."
Trine (1-0) cleared 15-of-18 (83.3 percent) attempts while Anderson finished 11-of-27 (40.7 percent) clears. Anderson turned the ball over 30 times while Trine committed 23 turnovers.
"We constantly talk about mastering the fundamentals; our fundamentals were not sound as a team; in turn, mistakes were made and Trine capitalized."
"Johnathan and Cole both scored their first career goals and Josh scored on a transition breakaway. All three showed a lot of confidence and that will continue to grow as the season progresses."
Anderson challenges Heidelberg University (0-0) on Saturday at 2 p.m.
