Pioneers Take Down Ravens

Transylvania University took down the Anderson University men's lacrosse team in a 25-3 victory during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) matchup in Lexington, Ky.
Tristan Wilbrandt (Fishers, Ind./Cathedral) and Jacob Spratley (Columbus, Ind./Columbus East) provided two points apiece for the Ravens (1-8, 0-3) on a goal and an assist each. Jonathan Orloff (Northbrook, Ill./Glenbrook North) contributed a goal and Caleb Spencer (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) dished out an assist. Spratley collected seven ground balls and won 13-of-29 (44.8 percent) faceoffs. Joel Lee (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) and Wilbrandt picked up four ground balls apiece.
Chris Schaefer led Transylvania (11-4, 6-0) with eight points on four goals and four assists. Nick Bailey notched five points on four goals and an assist. A.J. Teague provided three points on two goals and an assist. Alex Petrocelli, Bryce Lowe and Trenton Sneed each recorded three points on a goal and two assists. Joe Shermock tallied three assists. Collin Ruegg, Tristan Ach, Connor Davis and Sheymus Maloney each tallied a goal and an assist. Webb VanMeter, John West, Kayd Aquino, Corbyn Buchart and Will Hickey each scored a goal while T.J. Toivonen provided an assist. Toivonen notched four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Logan Fogle collected four ground balls and Davis created three turnovers. Seth Wilson won 10-of-12 (83.3 percent) faceoffs.
Eric Fisher (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) saved eight of the 33 shots he faced.

Transylvania outshot Anderson 45-6.
The Pioneers cleared 13-of-15 (86.7 percent) attempts while Anderson finished 7-of-25 (28 percent) clears.
Anderson turns its focus to Mount St. Joseph University (0-12, 0-5) as the two teams clash in HCLC action on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in Cincinnati.
