Anderson University men's lacrosse standout Joel Lee (Middlebury, Ind./Northridge) earned the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) Defensive Player of the Week, which was announced by the conference on Monday.
The Ravens (1-3) captured the program's first-ever victory as they outlasted La Roche College (2-9) in an 11-10 win last Wednesday.
Lee dominated his defensive matchup against the Redhawks, causing nine turnovers during the match. The junior from Middlebury also picked up four ground balls.
La Roche called a timeout on its offensive end with 15 seconds left in the match. Anderson led La Roche 11-10, but La Roche was setting up the play to try and tie the game. With six seconds left in the match, Lee forced the ball out of bounds off La Roche, causing the turnover which sealed the match for Anderson.
Anderson invades Crawfordsville to battle Wabash College (2-4) on Wednesday at 4 p.m. The Ravens, which are 0-1 in conference play, host Transylvania University (4-3, 0-0) in an HCLC matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m at Macholtz Stadium.
