Bio

Doug MacCraw enters the 2026-2027 season in his first year as an assistant coach with the AU Women’s Soccer Team. He brings a lifetime of experience having played, coached and officiated at almost every level of the game. Specializing in technical and mental skills, MacCraw has been sought after not only in the soccer arena but working with high performance athletes in a myriad of sports disciplines.

As a college coach, MacCraw has worked with the NAIA Webber International University Women’s Soccer program as both an assistant coach and as the Men’s and Women’s goalkeeper coach from 2022-2024. His first work with college athletes dates back to 2008-2009 working as the Mental Coach for Marquette University Men’s Golf team. His first stint in college soccer was 2021 working with NJCAA DIV I - Eastern Florida State College as a mental consultant, helping in the creation of unbreakable focus and success, the team went on to win the NJCAA DIV I National Championship. Another premier program MacCraw was able to act as the team’s mental consultant was the NCAA DIV I - University of South Florida Women’s Soccer Team in 2023.

MacCraw coached high school soccer in Orlando for over 10 years. He was the Head Coach for Winter Park Girls HS Soccer Team in Central Florida where he won back-to-back Orlando Metro Championships in 2022 and 2023. Prior to coaching at Winter Park High School, MacCraw coached at Lake Highland Preparatory School with Lloyd Yaxley (Current Seattle Reign Goalkeeper Coach) and former USWNT & Orlando Pride Player Kristen Edmonds. Between 2014 and 2023, Doug coached various teams to District Championships and Regional appearances in the Florida State Title Tournament.

Doug received his USSF National “A” License in 2017 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida certified by former USMNT U17 Men’s Head Coach John Ellinger. From 2019 to 2024, Doug was the Head Coach for the UPSL Semi-Pro SportsParadize Soccer Academy in Orlando, Florida coaching men in both the Premier Division and 1st Division. On the women’s side, he was the head coach for SportsParadize Soccer Academy in both the WPSL and UWS.

As a former youth director for girls soccer at GPS and technical director at Clermont FC both in Central Florida, MacCraw was able to oversee and coach at all levels of youth competitive soccer. In 2016-2017 his U13 girls team won the Presidents Cup and represented the State of Florida in the Southeast Regionals making it to the Championship match. In that same year, MacCraw was awarded “Coach of the Camp” at Alex Morgan’s ProCamp in Florida.

Having played the game as a youth in Bellevue, Nebraska, his love for playing took him into competitive club ball playing all positions including goalkeeper on his indoor club team. He joined the Men’s club soccer team at the University of Nebraska and started his freshman year playing left wing. The old BIG 8 Conference was the scene for play where MacCraw started every game including appearances in the BIG 8 Championship Tournaments in both Norman, Oklahoma and Boulder, Colorado.
