Bio
Mike Carney enters the 2026-27 season in his first year as an assistant coach with the AU women’s soccer program. Coach Carney joins Anderson after leading Indianapolis Bishop Chatard High School boys soccer program the past 8 years. Carney is the all time winningest coach in Chatard boys soccer history, leading the Trojans to their first of three IHSAA Sectional titles, two Regional, and one Semi-State championships. In 2025 Carney led Chatard to their first appearance in the State finals. During the 2021 Covid Season, Carney was also an assistant coach for the DePauw men’s soccer team.
Carney has coached at various club soccer programs across Central Indiana and currently holds his USSF National D License. He graduated from IU Indy in 2017 with a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and currently teaches high school history in Indianapolis.
He and his wife Jordan reside in Indianapolis.
