Adam Christensen was named as the Anderson University women's soccer head coach in January 2026. He enters the 2026-27 season in his first year as head coach.

Christensen arrives at Anderson with 10 years of coaching experience, ranging to the semi-professional, collegiate and high school levels. He served as the men’s assistant coach at Lee University. The 2025 fall season was highlighted by a marquee 3–1 win over No. 16-ranked University of Findlay. In 2024, Christensen held the role of recruiting coordinator for the Trine University men’s soccer team. He was responsible for bringing in 15 individuals in his recruiting class. Trine tied for first in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings, claiming a share of the program’s first-ever regular-season MIAA title. The Thunder then advanced to the MIAA Championship match.

Christensen currently serves as the head coach of Cleveland United FC, a semi-professional United Professional Soccer League (UPSL) team based in Cleveland, Tenn., which will begin its inaugural season in the spring of 2026. In the summer of 2025, he coached at Brookhouse FC in Orlando, Fla., serving as an assistant coach for the USLW League team and as head coach of the Pre-USLW U-20 squad. Under his leadership, the U20 team went undefeated and captured the Disney Classic Memorial Day Tournament championship.

Christensen took the role of head women’s soccer coach for West Virginia Wesleyan College in 2023. He brought in 13 individuals in his recruiting class. Under his leadership, the team’s average semester GPA rose from 3.3 to 3.65, resulting in 17 Academic All-Mountain East Conference (MEC) selections and nine MEC Commissioner’s Honor Roll honors.

Christensen served as the film and game consultant for Francis Marion University in 2022. The Patriots went 8-6-5, tying for second in the Conference Carolinas. Francis Marion proceeded to advance to the Conference Carolinas Championship match.

Christensen spent two years as the head coach of Freedom High School in Orlando. Freedom earned district-runner up in both season and achieved its highest Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) state ranking in 15 years.

Christensen served as the men’s assistant coach for Barton College for two years. During his time, the Bulldogs compiled a 17-9 record. In the Spring 2021 season, Barton tied for first in the Conference Carolinas standings and advanced to the Conference Carolinas Championship match.

Christensen served as the head men’s soccer coach for The Rock High School in Gainesville, Fla. in 2018. He led The Rock to a Florida Christian Association of Private and Parochial Schools (FCAPPS) state title. During Christensen’s tenure, The Rock went 15-0. He also filled the role as the head coach of the University of Florida women’s U-23 club team in 2018, in which the Gators went 11-3-1.

Christensen spent the 2017 season as an assistant coach on Sante Fe High School men’s soccer team in Alachua, Fla. Sante Fe put together the most successful season in school history, compiling a 19-2-2 record. The Raiders captured a district title and was a regional finalist in the state tournament. In 2016, Christensen filled the roles as the men’s assistant coach of the University of Florida men’s club soccer team, which put together a 12-3-2 record. He also contributed as a volunteer men’s assistant for Longwood University in 2015.

As a collegiate athlete, Christensen competed in three sports across multiple institutions. He ran track and cross country at Lee, played soccer and ran track at Trevecca Nazarene University, and concluded his athletic career playing soccer at Hampden-Sydney College, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 2016. He later earned a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Arkansas State University in 2024.
