Track Teams Host Raven Invitational

The Anderson University men's and women's track and field teams hosted the Raven Invitational on Saturday at Macholtz Stadium.
The AU women finished second in the six-team meet while the Raven men were third in the standings.
Shantol McMahon (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Centennial) led the Ravens with top five finishes in the shot put (2nd, 36-4 1/4) and hammer (3rd, 130-1) and was sixth in the javelin (88-0) and seventh in the discus (101-7).
Other top five finishers for the women were Rachel Grubbs (Wichita, Kan./Maize South) in the 200 meters (2nd), Deborah Gardner (Anderson, Ind./Anderson) in the 100 meters (3rd) and 200 meters (3rd), Margo Sinclair (Olathe, Kan./Olathe) in the 5,000 meters (3rd), Dionna Burden (Indianapolis, Ind./Lawrence North) in the 400 meters (4th), Maddie Baxter in the 800 meters (4th), Casey Gillespie (Heltonville, Ind./Bedford North Lawrence) in the 5,000 meters (4th), Janell Bender (Shipshewana, Ind./Westview) in the 1,500 meters (4th), Melissa Green (Toledo, Ohio/Toledo Christian) in the shot put (4th) and Sarah Warren (Constantine, Mich./Constantine) in the long jump (4th).
Max Kittle (Algonquin, Ill./Dundee-Crown) led the Raven men with a pair of victories in the 110 hurdles (15.81) and the 400 hurdles (56.43). Neal Tardy (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) also won the 1,500 meters in a time of 4:24.
Brad McNeil (Middletown, Ind./Pendleton Heights) had a pair of top five finishes in the 400 hurdles (2nd, 56.46) and 110 hurdles (2nd, 17.32).
Other top five finishers in the running events were Sam Bayliss (Anderson, Ind./Pendleton Heights) in the 800 meters (2nd), Eric Linn (Macy, Ind./) in the 5,000 meters (2nd), Nick Moyer (Brookville, Ohio/Brookville) in the 400 meters (3rd), Ryan Saylor (Dundee, Ill./Dundee-Crown) in the 5,000 meters (3rd), Davis Thompson (Carmel, Ind./Carmel) in the 5,000 meters (5th), Patrick Smith (Fountain City, Ind./) in the 1,500 meters (5th) and Cameron Mason (Lapel, Ind./Lapel) in the 400 meters (5th).
Top five finishers in the field events were Joe Daubenspeck in the high jump (2nd), Caleb Collier (Zionsville, Ind./Zionsville) in the shot put (3rd), Kyle Miles (Fort Wayne, Ind. /North) in the long jump (3rd), Daubenspeck in the long jump (5th)

Men's Team Scores - Bethel 184, Thomas More 137, Anderson 118, Earlham 54, IU East 41, Trine 24.
AU runs in the NCAA Div. III meet next Saturday at Franklin College.
