Inaugural Women's Lacrosse Season To Begin in March

The initial Anderson University women's lacrosse season will get underway during the 2018-19 school year. The first contest for the team will be March 2 against Monmouth (Ill.) College at Macholtz Stadium.
AU's inaugural women's lacrosse schedule was released Wednesday.
The 13-game schedule includes seven contests at AU, including the first three. AU takes on Heidelberg March 5 and Trine on March 12 before heading to Wisconsin for a three-game road trip at Marian (March 16), UW-River Falls (March 18) and Carroll (March. 19).
"I'm ecstatic to get out there and coach the extraordinary young women starting practice with us this fall," said coach Colin McSharar. "Twenty-two months of travel, preparation, and commitment will have gone into our first game on March 2. It'll be a season unlike any other, and an experience unique to our first-ever recruiting class. Laying the foundation for the future of this program is hard work. But, we have the opportunity to make some noise Year One and grow on that for the future years. We have the squad to do just that."
AU will play four straight at home beginning March 31 against Bethany (WV) College. The Lady Ravens follow with matches against Transylvania (April 2), Earlham (April 6) and Franklin (April 10). The first season winds down with three contests on the road against Mount St. Joseph (April 13), Thomas More (April 24) and Hanover (April 27).
