Anderson University football sophomore Brehdyn Clemons collected multiple weekly accolades following Saturday's performance against Wilmington College.
Clemons was selected as the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday. The sophomore defensive back from Midland, Mich. then was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week. This is the first time Clemons has received either accolade.
Anderson (1-6) fell to Wilmington College (3-4) by a score of 34-23 on Saturday at Lapel High School. During a Wilmington kickoff, Clemons recovered a fumble and returned it 14 yards to the 1-yard line, setting up an easy Anderson touchdown. He later blocked a punt and recovered it. The play gave Anderson the ball on the Wilmington 24, which also led to an Anderson touchdown.
Anderson, which is 0-3 in HCAC action, hosts Franklin College (3-4, 1-2) for Senior Day and Military Appreciation Day in an HCAC contest on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m. at Lapel High School. The Senior Day ceremony is currently set to start at 12:55 p.m.
