Important Update from Anderson Athletics
Anderson University has made the difficult decision to discontinue its men's and women's lacrosse programs effective immediately. The decision comes as the university strives to be fiscally responsible amidst current and future challenges facing higher education.
The Ravens lacrosse programs were formed prior to the 2018-19 season and have competed in the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference since 2019.
"We understand this is difficult news for many — most notably our student-athletes, coaches, and their families," said President Scott Moats. "We value the lessons that can be learned on the field and competing together for a greater purpose. We're grateful for the dedication and service of head coaches Jacob Ashton and Russell Mackey."
Anderson University is committed to working with current lacrosse student-athletes to ensure they have an exceptional student experience and college career. AU's academic success coaches and athletic department is committed to supporting student-athletes in the coming weeks following this announcement. AU plans to further its commitment to its remaining 18 sports and its ongoing membership with the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.
