Women’s Golf Captures Fourth in HCAC Championships
The Anderson University women’s golf team captured fourth place in the three-day Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships, which concluded on Sunday in Anderson.
The Anderson University women's golf team captured fourth place in the three-day Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships, which concluded on Sunday in Anderson.
Anderson posted a 54-hole team score of 1,067 (+191) behind rounds of 361 (+69), 355 (+63) and 351 (+59). The Ravens recorded the program's best finish in the HCAC Championships since taking fourth in the 2011-12 HCAC Championships.
"I'm so proud of this team and all they have accomplished this season," Coach Morgan Douglass said. "Their hard work and commitment to each other have been so great to see and be a part of. I cannot wait to see what we do next year!"
Hannah Emenhiser matched her sixth-place finish from last season after recording a 54-hole score of 252 (+33). The junior from Whiteland fired rounds of 87, 80 and 85 on the par-73 layout at Anderson Country Club.
Addy Gick claimed 18th with a 266 (+47) after shooting rounds of 90, 89 and 87. Lilyan Kirchner took 19th with a 268 (+49), carding rounds of 86, 94 and 88. The freshman from New Palestine posted an 18-hole relative-to-par personal record (+13) and a 36-hole relative-to-par personal record (+34).
Ava Capes tied for 24th with a 286 (+67) after firing rounds of 98, 97 and 91. Capes turned in a relative-to-par score of +18 on Round 3, which set a season best and tied her personal record. Lehna Wagner secured 26th with a 289 (+70) after shooting rounds of 104, 92 and 93.
Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology's Erin Nolan earned HCAC Medalist honors after firing a 233 behind rounds of 75, 80 and 78.
Transylvania University captured the team title with a 54-hole team score of 1,017 (+141). Rose-Hulman came in second with 1,030 (+154), finishing ahead of Mount St. Joseph University (1,051, +175), Anderson (1,067, +191), Earlham College (1,110, +234) and Bluffton University (1,111, +235), which rounded out the team standings. Hanover College and Franklin College did not record team scores.
