Collins Earns Second-Team All-HCAC Recognition
Anderson University men's soccer standout Daniel Collins (Jamestown, Ind./Western Boone) earned second-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) recognition, which was announced by the conference on Wednesday. Nick Martin (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) received all-HCAC Honorable Mention.
Collins led the Ravens with 18 points behind team-highs of six goals and six assists. The senior captain from Jamestown ranks fifth in the conference in assists. Collins also collected all-HCAC Honorable Mention as a sophomore.
"Danny is a very talented player that has the capability of scoring at any time," Coach Scott Fridley said. "He has been a good leader; one the young guys can look up to. Danny is a quality young man we will miss."
Martin contributed four points on one goal and two assists. The senior captain from New Palestine led the team with 47 interceptions. Martin also put together 26 steals. This is Martin's first all-conference selection.
"Nick has had a great four years with us.  He has been resilient and has done everything to stay on the field.   He has been a respected captain and we will miss him.  His work in the weight room is impactful and his leadership will be missed."
Anderson tied for fifth in the HCAC with a 7-10-2 overall record and a 4-4-1 conference record.
