Anderson Tabs Gray as Next Head Golf Coach
Anderson University announced on Wednesday that Jacob Gray has been named the next head golf coach.
"Coach Gray has gained the trust of the competitive golfers he's mentored in his coaching and assistant club professional positions," said Anderson Athletic Director Marcie Taylor. "He's knowledgeable about Anderson University and has a grasp of the recruiting landscape as it relates to college golf. I'm confident Coach Gray will stabilize the rosters and raise the competitive level of our men's and women's golf programs."
Gray is currently an Assistant Golf Professional at Delaware Country Club in Muncie. He started in the Spring of 2019 and he assists with daily operations at the club. Gray is immersed in the junior golf camp at the club and has been an assistant golf coach in the Delta Public School system.
During the Fall of 2018, Gray served as the assistant coach at Indiana University-Kokomo (IU-Kokomo). The Cougars captured three tournament titles during the fall season, which included the River States Conference Fall Preview.
Gray competed for Anderson during for the first two and a half years of his collegiate career. He recorded Anderson's top finish during the 2016 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships. Gray played out his senior season with IU-Kokomo, while guiding the Cougars to three tournament victories. A native of Anderson, Ind., Gray graduated from IU-Kokomo in 2018 with a bachelor's of science degree in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security.
